Pass Cooking for Candlelighters
At Pass, we’re always looking for ways to make a meaningful impact beyond the work we do every day. This April, we’re stepping into the kitchen for something a little different, and a lot more important.
We’re proud to be taking part in the Ready Steady Cook charity event in support of Candlelighters, an incredible organisation dedicated to supporting families of children with cancer.
What is Ready Steady Cook?
Taking place on April 29th 2026 at Leeds City College (Printworks), this unique charity event brings together 20 teams of two to compete in a high-energy cooking challenge.
Each team will be given the same mystery ingredients and just two hours to create a two-course meal, including a main and dessert.
The twist? Ingredients are sourced from surplus stock, helping to reduce food waste while encouraging creativity in the kitchen.
After the cooking challenge, guests will enjoy a five-course tasting menu, followed by awards for the top teams.
The event will be hosted by Briony May Williams, known for her time on The Great British Bake Off and her inspiring work in the food and media space.
Why Candlelighters?
Every penny raised from the event goes to Candlelighters, a charity that provides vital emotional, practical, and financial support to families facing childhood cancer.
Their work makes a real difference during incredibly difficult times, helping families focus on what matters most: being there for their children.
Why We’re Getting Involved
At Pass, we believe in supporting communities and causes that truly matter. This event is a brilliant opportunity to:

- Bring our team together for something fun and meaningful
- Challenge ourselves in a completely new environment (wish us luck!)
We’ll be swapping keyboards for chopping boards and dashboards for desserts, all in the name of raising as much as possible for Candlelighters.
