How do you work with Pass?

“Traditionally I’ve worked in industry and I’ve worked as a math teacher but I set up my own business five years ago, Maths by Ian, and that’s now evolved, I’ve now just set up a limited company, MBI East yorkshire limited, and so we’re now offering maths and English support to people of all ages but traditionally maybe those who work in industry or those who want to go into an industry, helping people working towards qualifications in nursing, accountancy, engineering, or any sort of young apprentice. And then typically, two or three years ago I was really struggling to find an online provider who could really help support that offer of having a formal side of qualifications and assessments for maths and English, and I’ve tried a few different providers and looked around, but I found Pass, and then I think you know you’ve grown since then, and about two or three years ago I was talking to a couple of people in the office there who really really helped me get set up as a training provider and make sure that I had the assessments and skills and practical solutions in place so that I could make the offer to these apprentices of all different ages.

And so then one of my big customers at the moment is a care home who have a group of Care Homes and they typically have a few hundred staff and they have quite a proportion of those staff who need upskilling in math and English to enable them to move on to the next level in management and in the sort of Nursing and Care vocational and academic qualifications that they need.“

What was your experience with Pass like?

“Everybody’s been great to be fair, I’m not just saying that because you’re sitting there across the room, it has been easy to do to be fair, it has, I’ve had no real problems and it’s very informal so at the moment you don’t have any fancy processes. So please don’t change that, where you can you can get in touch with people in an informal way and say I’ve got this problem please can you help me sort it out. And I think that that works because you just don’t know what the problems are until you come across those.“

Would you recommend Pass?

“Yes I would recommend Pass to other providers if you were looking for a system that requires either assessments, courses, or exams, or any one of those and you need to work with apprentices, students in schools, or anybody who’s being home-educated, then I would definitely recommend Pass.”
