Why did you choose Pass over other providers?
“So we chose Pass for a few reasons really but the main attraction was the up-to-date content on all of the learning content, the multiple mock tests available, and past papers across all of the different awarding bodies as well which is good. And since the transition, I’d say the support from our account manager has been excellent and the teaching resources are just brilliant, the new addition to the website which was a nice little bonus!”
What elements of the platform do you find the most useful?
“The initial assessments are obviously kind of a the free addition. So not only do we have a great resource for the learners that do need to complete maths and English but we can also then use the free assessment across all of our funding streams, not just apprenticeships, so we can assess obviously all different learner types and see which level they’re at. And we use it for staff as well just to see what their current levels are at, and any CPD in that area so that’s one of the main ones. And the video content for pretty much, especially math, every question that the learners are competing and everything they’re learning it’s all video content it’s all up to date. Yes, it’s brilliant.”
Do you find the Initial Assessments accurate in determining a Learner’s level?
“Yeah 100%, they’re really good like I said the content is up to date and all the videos. The instant feedback as well, because some platforms don’t necessarily, they might give them a result but they don’t give them that option to look back through their answers and things and they have to then come to us for that feedback so that instant feedback is really good for the learner.”
Do your learners find the progress tracking system helpful for them?
“Again, other platforms we’ve used didn’t necessarily have like percentages that they could see going up their progress was increasing we would have to map that across into a different portfolio, the fact that they can see their progress going up as well is really motivational for them and I’d say that’s definitely one of the aspects that they like.”
How have your learner’s abilities improved after completing the course?
“I mean we’re still obviously at the beginning of our journey with Pass, it’s still quite a new thing for us, we’ve still got some learners on a different platform, but all of the ones that have either transitioned over and have seen the comparison: nothing but praise from them. They’re absolutely loving the Pass website, how easy it is to navigate the homepage, as well in terms of seeing all the content, seeing the progress. Every aspect of it has been positive and the new learners, obviously they don’t necessarily know any different but everybody has had nothing but praise for the system. And the ones that are actually really engaged on it at the moment – their progress I’d probably say at least 90% of them are now ahead of target which is great. We also had a really good experience with a new member of staff, a new functional skills tutor, that’s just come on board. She asked if there’s anything she could do to upskill before she started the job so you kindly allowed us to put her on as a learner in terms of getting full access to the website and she was upskilling and really appreciated that and it’s given her a lot of confidence going into new job role.”
